Construction of Yagnashala
Vriddha jageshwar, Almora, Uttarakhand
Project Details
Nestled in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2,200 meters, Vriddha Jageshwar houses the sacred Swayambhu Shiva Linga, where a mysterious, ceaseless flow of water encircles the sanctum. It is believed to be the very land where Lord Shiva first set foot on Earth. From this divine vantage point, one can behold the majestic Himalayan ranges, including Nandkot, Trishul Parvat, Panchachuli, and Nanda Devi, the abode of Paramaguru. Steeped in Tapas Shakti, this place has been sanctified by Maharshis, Yogis, and Gnanis across Yugas. As referenced in the Skanda Purana, it holds immense historical and spiritual significance, akin to the nearby temples of Jageshwar and Dhandeshwar.
In response to a request from the Vriddha Jageshwar Temple Trust, Satsankalpa Foundation is supporting the construction of a Yagnashala to facilitate daily Havans, providing a dedicated space for priests and devotees. The structure will include a Havan Kund within a hall accommodating 20-25 people, built using locally sourced stone and deodar wood, preserving the region’s architectural heritage.
